Organization of the Bank for International Development (BAID)

The Bank for International Development (BAID) is an intergovernmental organization created with autonomous legal personality, on a permanent basis, with the aim of economically supporting development projects and programs and, more generally, in the ACP Countries (African Caribbean and Pacific) as well as in New Development Countries, for the realization of their humanitarian, ecological and sustainable development activities, according to the lines of the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) promoted by the United Nations General Assembly on September 25, 2015) through the issuance of electronic certificated currency.
The BAID is present at international level and may create offices in other Member Countries, Affiliates or third parties as well as representations to international organizations. The Bank for International Development (BAID) is managed by a Board of Directors with capacity to invite representatives of the Host Countries to the Board.

The Executive Board deliberates:

  • By simple majority vote (50% + 1) on all questions of an ordinary, financial, administrative, accounting and organizational nature
  • Qualified majority (two thirds of the voters) for extraordinary issues. The ordinary activity of the Bank for International Development (BAID) is managed by a Secretariat of which 5 Departments and 1 Directorate are established, directed by the respective directors:
    • Department of Economic and Financial Affairs
    • Accounting department
    • IT department
    • Legal Department
    • Department of personnel / internal affairs
    • The Directorate of Treasury is the one responsible for the certification of the economic resources issued by the BAID
    • The Secretariat is responsible for defining all parameters for financing of counter-parties.

The BAID has an Accounting Control Body with inspection and accounting control functions and undertakes to cooperate actively with the national and international organizations, which it deems most appropriate, for the pursuit of its development mandate, which always considers the beneficial and sustainable character as the main axis of its development actions.
